The good news is that the UCLA Bruins are back as evidenced by a big victory over the Tennessee Volunteers of the vaunted South Eastern Conference in Tennessee. The bad news is that they lost their Red-Shirt Freshman quarterback Kevin Prince for 3-4 weeks with a broken jaw.
Kevin Prince was 11 for 23 for 101 yards on Saturday but more importantly he threw for a touchdown and most importantly is the fact that he didn't throw any interceptions.
Kevin Prince kept the UCLA Bruins in the game Saturday and the defense basically won it for them with three interceptions and a crucial goal-line stand with 2 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Losing Kevin Prince for 3-4 weeks is going to hurt the UCLA Bruins but if there's any silver lining in this cloud it's that their next three opponents are Kansas State, Stanford and Oregon. But the good news ends there because the nest opponent on 10/17 is Cal who is currently ranked 8th in the country.
One thing I am interested in seeing is how Kevin Craft, who was horrible last year at QB, will play at QB now that the UCLA Bruins has a much improved offensive line and a decent running game. Will he still be the interception machine he was last year or will he be able to manage the game now with a year of experience behind him and better players around him?
